We had a packet of stuff come in the mail for the Fusion, mostly title and financing stuff. But, along with all of that, it came with a little birth certificate thing.

Kinja'd!!!

I guess it was originally sold to a dealer in Detroit, and then the dealer we bought it from traded for it or something.

Is this a thing all manufacturers do, and I just never saw the one for the Saturn, or is this a Ford thing? Because it's cool to know the cars "birthday."

I saw this today too.

Kinja'd!!!

It was a 635csi, which doesn't that make it like one step down from an M6?

The front end has been in a fender bender and it's painted a frankly hideous color, but old BMWs are cool, so picture it was.

You can get them from Skoda on request.

Each certificate receives a serial number, is signed by the head archivist and is issued in the name of the applicant. Issuing a complete certificate costs 1,210 CZK (approx. 47 EUR/40 GBP). Should any details be missing, there is a reduced price of 968 CZK (37 EUR/32 GBP). For selected vehicles such as exhibits, there is the possibility of obtaining copies of available archive documents as required. The price is then 2,420 CZK (93 EUR/80 GBP). Further information is available at ŠKODA Archive, contact: +420 326 8 31133, email archiv@skoda-auto.cz .

I believe Land Rover and Jaguar (as well as some others) do it on request.

(To clarify, I don't drink this,,,, pi55 water) but Budweiser has 'born on' dates also.

Hmm, usually those get filed away with the invoice at the dealer.

I'd say maybe they accidentally put it in the envelope, but it was stapled right to the top of the papers, which would probably be noticed if it wasn't supposed to go.

The SLP Camaros SS and Firehawks revived birth certificates when new and you can still get them to this day.

Also just recently the NCRS has started offering the shipping info for late 60s Camaro's, Chevelle's, Nova's that contain the cars birthdate and the original dealership it was shipped to
